Hilal Kazan will offer demonstrations of Arabic Calligraphy

On Wednesday afternoon this week a world-renowned Turkish calligrapher will set up shop in the Middle East & Islamic Studies Reading Room (SML 333) from 2-4 p.m. to offer demonstrations and a hands-on workshop in Arabic calligraphy.

Hilal Kazan is a recognized expert in Arabic calligraphy and is also a professor at Istanbul University. Her visit to the Yale campus is sponsored by the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, the Yale Muslim Students Association, and the Cagatay Fund at the Council on Middle East Studies.
